If you’ve been to Paphos but not heard of Amavi hotel it is because the hotel is just over one year old. This is a luxury hotel and the very first 5 star couples hotel in Cyprus, and yes it is gem.

Location, location & location, Amavi Hotel is situated in a prime unobstructed sunset view location, in front of a blue flag certified beach in Paphos. Amavi Hotel features in my top 10 list of best hotels in Cyprus. It oozes a tranquil intimate environment for relaxation. It is a unique haven for couples. Dedicated Guest Relations team at the Amavi will gladly recommend nearby historic and cultural places & also they have a timetable of organised fun and sporty activities each day of the week like yoga, historic group tours & many more. Paphos old town is a few minutes walk along the beach promenade as well as the historic enchanting Paphos Castle on the quaint old picturesque harbour. Do not leave without taking a walk to the Paphos Castle.

Rooms

Rooms at the Amavi are very spacious, luxurious, well finished and all sea facing. Bathrooms feature marble countertops, brilliant rain-shower and a large bath tub. Lighting and curtaining is all automated and this includes “do not disturb” and “make up room” signs, basically great switches for everything. Housekeeping is thorough and turn down service adds an extra touch. Cabanas come with a private garden or private plunge pool.

Culinary Experince

One cannot mention Amavi without mentioning their fine food, from the casual chic buffet at Ezaria with live cooking stations where they save different themed menus for each day of the week to the fine dining at Nocturne where they play beautiful piano music. You can also enjoy grilled dishes and sushi at Immenso the open air roof garden Pan Asian Restaurant. There is also the Fort O Lana; open air restaurant offering Cypriot fine dining, sit back and enjoy a glass of Cypriot wine. After the food head to Selene Bar to enjoy a cocktail and some live music.

Leisure & Hotel Amenities

Evera Spa & wellness provides top to toe wellness and beauty experience for couples. There is a gym, steamroom, sauna, hair salon & barber. Their signature treatments include massages, body and face treatments. There is a spacious relaxation room to complete the whole experience. There are 3 swimming pools at the Amavi, one indoor and two outdoor pools, one with a swim up bar. A special sunbed allocation system means couples will always be side by side adding to the whole Amavi experience, “no need to rush in the morning to claim a sunlounger”. Each day pool attendants put a fitted towel on your sunbed plus one extra towel. Parasols come with lockable cabinets and you get a cool bag with chilled mineral water bottles for your relaxation.

Best time to visit Paphos

Paphos has a Mediterranean climate with hot dry summers & mild winters. if you are a sun seeker the best time to visit is between June and October, the hottest month being August with average daily of maximum temperatures of 32C and average low of 23C. Coolest month is January with average temperatures of 17C and lows of 9C.
